Safe styling: To the hairdresser with a quick test
· Updated: · 3 min read
Pop in for a quick test, and you’re good to go: hairdressers in Hamburg have recently been allowed to welcome customers who have tested negative for Covid-19. At Eric:Barbier, too, the staff are delighted to be able to safely style hair and beards again – but what’s the deal with rapid tests at the hairdresser’s? And what options are available? We asked salon manager Behar about the current regulations and the measures the Ballindamm and HafenCity branches have put in place in response to the current situation.
However, customers can also choose to use tests provided by Eric:Barbier. In this case, the rapid test is purchased in one of the salons for ten euros and carried out professionally by trained staff – either outdoors or in a specially partitioned-off area. Social distancing is maintained at all times and all guidelines for adhering to the hygiene protocol are strictly followed. “Our boss Anthony attended a special official medical training course specifically for this purpose, so that he could pass on this knowledge to all staff,” explains Behar. Anyone opting for the on-site self-test should allow 15 to 20 minutes’ buffer time before their appointment. This is the time needed to receive the test result – and daily operations can continue as planned without any delays.

As is the case in many other settings, unvaccinated customers at Eric:Barbier must currently present a negative COVID-19 test result at their appointment. This must not be more than twelve hours old and must come from a certified testing centre. “We pay very close attention to the test result – we focus particularly on the date and time,” explains Behar. Alternatively, on-site testing is also available in the salons. Eric:Barbier offers its customers several options: visitors can come to the hairdresser with a rapid test they have purchased themselves beforehand. This is then carried out directly in front of or inside the salon – either by the customer themselves or under the supervision of a member of staff.
